Customer Comments: Hi! I have had trouble finding fireplace doors to fit our fireplace in the home we moved into a little over a year ago. It appears to not be a standard size for ones that can be purchased at most stores online. The opening is 24 3/4” H x 42” W. We are not looking to spend too much on this project. Just something practical to help keep our young kids from playing in the fireplace. We were thinking black most likely. Thank you!
Our Comments: Here are some great looking black fireplace doors in price ranges from low to high. The Aluminum doors will be the least expensive. All of these doors would be custom made to fit your fireplace.

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #3: Brookfield Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Gate Mesh Backup Doors and Gray Glass.
Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #4: Carolina Window Pane Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Gray Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #5: MET Fireplace Glass Door in Textured Black with Shark Skin Doors and Non Reflective Black Glass with a Single Gate Mesh Backup Door. You cannot see through the glass.
High End Hand Crafted Doors
These doors are made by Stone Manufacturing and are very high end.
Option #6: Minimal-1 Fireplace Glass Door in Flat Black. This door nearly disappears into the fireplace.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
