Project #10898 - Glass Doors for Fireplace
Customer Comments: Will have a dimplex revillusion 20 inch logset (with heat). Originally was thinking bowed, but then I wondering if that was architecturally less approp then a 3 panel...don't want one panel flat. I thought I preferred glass ... can heat Still escape adequately from above? If not, then prob screen. And, screen if you think would look better. I think the trim should blend with wood, as opposed to the black...again open to suggestions.
Our Comments: In our opinion, a flat screen is the most appropriate design for a fireplace like this, particularly in a narrow room where it would be easy to bump into the screen. With that said, we have created examples of several types of screens including: Bowed, Folding, Single Panel and Glass Doors. These are all available in a wide variety of finishes and trim options shown near the bottom of this page. Also, we would not suggest eliminating black as an options, so we have created some examples in black to show how it looks.
Fireplace Opening: 26" W x 30" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
