Project #10908 - Glass Doors for Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hi Erick! Thank you for talking with me today! I have attached a picture of what we are looking for...we would want the glass to be tempered too. I attached a picture of the actual fireplace and a drawing of the actual measurements. I saw online that you have free design services, so feel free to send me a few mockups & prices. If you have anything that is stock (where we don't have to go custom) we would rather that. Thank you!

Our Comments: The doors that you provided as an example are made from sheet metal. We do not sell any fireplace doors in that lower end range of quality. Sheet metal tends to tarnish or rust easily, so we avoid that type of product. It also appears that you have a prefabricated fireplace, which requires special doors that must be custom made. These can be made from Aluminum, Steel or Solid Brass. The price varies dramatically based on these materials. Here are some examples:

Fireplace Opening: 42" W x 28 1/2" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Before
Before:

Low End Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass

These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass. This is the only manufacturer in the USA that does not use sheet metal to make solid brass doors. These are very high end and are finished like fine jewelry. The only way to get a truly high polished durable brass finish is to use solid brass that is thick enough to put pressure on it when it is polished. There are no other doors like this.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
