Project #10924 - 4 Sided Frame Screen with Sliding Mesh Curtains
Customer Comments: Hello Greg, Ideally we would like curtains on the opening like those on our fireplace from 1922, first pic attached, but are not sure how they would be secured which is why we were thinking the screen with curtains. Appreciate your help in guiding us. Thanks,
Our Comments: We will start with a mockup showing how a 4 sided frame screen would look on your fireplace. The frame is attached with brackets that mount to the masonry inside the fireplace. This is the ideal solution for a fireplace that is raised in the wall like yours. These are available in a wide variety of finishes as shown below, although we believe the oil rubbed steel will be perfect to blend with the color of the surround and natural vibe of the pictures flanking the fireplace. This type of screen is always best complimented with some interesting andirons, so we included a couple mockups showing how that looks.
Fireplace Opening: 40" W x 38" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Free Standing Frame Screens
These screens have sliding mesh curtains like those above, but stand in front of the fireplace with legs. They have an 1 1/2" wide angle iron frame that hides the curtain rod mechanism, so they stand out from the face of the fireplace by 1 1/2".

Free Standing Single Panel Screens
These screens are available with a wide variety of styles, decorative trims and finishes (see trims and finishes below).

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
