Project #10927 - Glass Doors for Fireplace
Customer Comments: We are looking for a door with as thin a frame as possible. The opening is 42 3/16 wide by 14 1/4 high with bifold trackless doors. I have attached 3 photos, as you can see from the photo of the room we are remodeling. Our house is kind of a mid-century modern.
Our Comments: Seeing as this is a prefabricated fireplace, the type of doors that will work depend on how the opening was created. So we have sent an email with further questions for you. In the meantime, here are some examples of how doors might look. Which ones will work will depend on your response to our questions.

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.
Option #2: EDGE-4 Solid Brass Fireplace Door in Weathered Brass.
Option #3: EDGE-HHFL Solid Brass Fireplace Door in Oil Rubbed Steel.
Option #4: EDGE-SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Oil Rubbed Bronze. The outer panes of glass are fixed and the inner panes slide left and right.
Option #4B: EDGE-SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Oil Rubbed Steel.
Option #5: SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Burnt Sienna. This works like option #4 and is shown with the doors open.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
