Project #10929 - Glass Doors for Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hi, Thanks for your help! Attached are 3 pictures of my rock fireplace. The measurement for width is 30.0-30.25 and the height range is 25.5-26. If I can chose the 3 mock up styles . I prefer dark ( no silver) and door #s 15, 25 and 31. Please lmk if more info is needed. FYI - fireplace interior is about 6 inches of bumpy rock. Because there is a lot of gap due to the rocks, I don't think just mortaring the sides would look nice. Can your mock ups show pictures of the fireplace with the metal frame covering over the gap areas. Thanks!!

Our Comments: Our advice is to fit the door inside and fill the gaps with mortar. If you overlap the opening, the uneven stones will also create gaps around the frame. You will need a wider frame to cover the gaps facing that you see facing the fireplace, but the gaps on the sides will still need to be filled. It looks better with the gaps around the opening filled since they follow the normal character of the stones where they all have similar gaps and mortar joints. We are showing doors installed both ways. Read more about Rock Fireplaces here.

Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Low End Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
