Project #10941 - Linear Fireplace Door Design Dilemma
Customer Comments: Hello, We need to add glass doors to this FP opening. Measurements: W 36 x 23 5/8 H. Style: Interested in something simple, either black frame or brushed brass and either clear or black colored glass. Attached are the 3 photos per your website. Please ignore the foam corner guards, we have young children. :). Thank you
Our Comments: Your fireplace poses in interesting design dilemma. With the fireplace on the right and the storage on the left, a door over the right opening is going to look odd. We have created mockups of several different ways to treat this fireplace. We believe a single wide door made to cover both openings is the best solution as it will give the illusion that it is a single linear fireplace, which is a very popular design trend. Any of these doors can be made to just cover the right side opening if that is the way you decide to go.
Fireplace Opening Sizes (approx):
36" W x 23 5/8" H (right side)
30" W x 23 5/8" (left side)
80" W x 23 5/8" (Combined)
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Steel and Solid Brass or Steel and are custom designed to compliment your beautiful Thomas O'Brien Hicks pendant lights.

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
