Project #10970 - Glass Doors for Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hello, I am interested in either a custom screen or custom mesh doors for our fireplace. Dimensions are 31 1/16" wide by 30 1/8" high. In looking through your website, I noticed the Carolina doors and the Brookfield doors. I’d like a very simple design. I am also considering a custom free standing screen because I'm concerned the center of the doors will obstruct the view of the fire. For the free standing single panel screen, I would want to be able to push it flat against the marble so the inner legs would have to be no wider than 31” outer edge to outer edge. I like the color of the metal rail that is currently there so maybe something classic bronze?

Our Comments: We can make the screen doors with a single door so there is no obstruction. We can also make a "Psuedo Mesh" cabinet door where the center is a very narrow black piece that has less obstruction than a typical framed door. The items made by Design Specialties are made from powder coated steel. The items from Stone Manufacturer are made from Solid Brass, so they can be finished to closer match your table.

About Finishes!

Before
Before:

Low End Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Brookfield

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

Carolina

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass

These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
