Project #10981 - Sleek Modern Doors for In The Wall Tile Fireplace

Customer Comments: Attached please find photos of my fireplace, fireplace opening, and room decor. Our masonry fireplace opening measures 45" wide x 29 1/2" high. Based on your site photos I prefer the “Stiletto” with "Classic Handles" snd clear glass, but welcome your suggestions. Thank you in advance for your help.

Our Comments: The stiletto might work depending on how perfect the fireplace opening is as it only has about 1/4" room for play. We have provided a variety of door options that would look great with your fireplace and room setting.

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Before:

Low End Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Stiletto
Stiletto Fireplace Door Option #1: Stiletto Cutback Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass. Note: We cannot change the door handles in the mockups from what is in the original picture of the door. This one has the Simplicity handles.
Stiletto
Stiletto Fireplace Door Profile Stiletto Profile Options: The Cutback frame is what we would recommend for this application as it is very flat to the fireplace. However, it only allows 1/4" room for play, so the fireplace needs to be almost perfectly square. We do see that the tile edges at the top are slighly off. The standard Stiletto projects out from the fireplace 1 5/8", so it will look like it is sticking out. This takes on a look of it's own, which most people do not prefer...but it depends on your taste.

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

Met Fireplace Door Option #4: MET Bifold Fireplace Door in Black Nickel with Gray Glass. This is a relatively new door that we do not have linked on our website yet, but would be perfect for your fireplace.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass

These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
