Glass Doors for Corner Fireplace - Project #10998
Customer Comments: Hello, After a major water damage we were able to repair and resurfacing our fireplace. Took photos per instructions. We are interested to keep the look as is, but we need to install a glass door since we can not close the went per city code. We are looking into minimalistic glass doors something like example "#1F minimal corner fireplace" in your website. We are of course open to suggestions. If it is possible we prefer to install the door inside so the frame/glass doors sits inside or lines up with the fireplace surround. Please let me know if you need more information.
Our Comments: Here are 3 examples of how glass doors can work with your fireplace. We have noticed that the marble facing is not even with the fireplace opening, so we recommend an overlap fitting door as the best option so as to hide this flaw.
Fireplace Opening: Not Yet Provided
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable. These doors must fit inside the black metal opening. They cannot be made to overlap the marble or fit flush with the marble. Any difference between the black metal and marble openings will be accentuated by these doors.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. There are designs that can be made to fit into the marble opening or overlap the marble. Either type will hide the difference between the black metal and marble. The inside fitting doors require a minimum depth of 1 1/4", so as long as the front edge of the marble is at least 1 1/4" from the black metal they will work. Otherwise, the overlap fitting doors will be necessary.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
