Project #11004 - Glass Doors for Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hello! I would like a custom design glass fireplace doors. Attached are pictures of my fireplace. I want the doors to fit in the opening and not the standard 2 inches on the bricks.

Our Comments: Prefabricated fireplaces like yours have limitations on how the doors can be installed. We have provided several mockups here to show you each of the possibilities. Finishes and styles can vary widely. These mockups are just to show the types of doors that will work.

Fireplace Opening: 37 1/2" W x 21" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Before
Before:

Low End Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Brookfield
Brookfield Fireplace Door Option #: Brookfield Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black. This door must be attached directly to the black metal frame of your fireplace and can overlap the opening by 3/8" to 3/4". It will not cover the entire exposed black metal frame.

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

Legend
Legend Fireplace Door Option #: Legend Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black. The frame on this door can be made custom to any width, so we can make it cover all of the black metal to look like a normal masonry fireplace.
Carolina
Carolina Fireplace Door Option #: Carolina Fireplace Glass Door in Vintage Iron. The Carolina is very much like the Legend except that it has a 2" wide frame that can overlap up to 1 1/4". That may be enough to hide the black metal without having to pay the price for the custom width frame of the Legend.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass

These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.

Minimal-1
Minimal-1 Fireplace Door Option #: Minimal-1 Fireplace Twin Glass Door Flat Black with Satin Nickel Hardware. This door just has an angle iron frame on the top and bottom, no frame on the sides. It is made to attach directly to the bricks instead of the black metal. The top attaches to the steel lintel bar. This is a very minimal look.
Hybrid-2
Hybrid 2 Fireplace Door Option #: HYBRID-2 Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Pewter. Like the Minimal door above, this door has no frame on the sides but with bifold doors.
Split Tube
DF1G Half Round Door Option #: DF1G Bifold Door with Gloss Black Outer Frame and Half Round Door Trim in Polished Nickel with Graylite 14 dark gray glass. This door is made to overlap the brick opening and help hide everything behind it.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
