Fireplace Glass Doors with Coastal Vibe - Project #11018
Customer Comments: Hello, I am looking for a few mock-ups for a new exterior enclosure for our remodeled fireplace. I have attached the pictures. Based on the photos I have attached, you can see I have a coastal decor and live near the water. I want some brushed silver, nothing dark. The opening is small (36” inches wide by 20” high) compared to the rest of the wall so I am looking to maybe enhance the size with a larger frame around it. Thank you!
Our Comments: Here are some doors we have designed that have a coastal vibe to them showing a range of frame widths and concepts that will work on your fireplace. The wider the frame is, the less we would recommend using a brushed silver finish as it can become too much. We took a couple mockups to the extreme to illustrate this. Some doors cannot overlap the facing and others can, so we have shown both options. The first two mockups with Aluminum doors must fit inside, but they are reasonably priced. You will find the others to be at the extreme opposite of the price spectrum.

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #2D: Stiletto ZC Fireplace Glass Door in Silver with Silver Surround and Laser Cut Wave Pattern.
Stainless Steel Doors
Stainless Steel doors are great for coastal regions and will give you that satin silver look you are asking for. These doors must be made to fit inside the opening. They are heavy duty and rugged.
High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Unlike the more affordable aluminum doors and the stainless steel, these doors can be made to overlap your pebble facing. They are very high end, and quite refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel. Some of these examples will be ridiculously expensive compared to other fireplace doors.

Option #5: HLD Hingeless Fireplace Door with 2" Wide Side Frame and 3" Wide Top and Bottom Frame in Satin Nickel.
Option #6: SD Sliding Door with 2" Wide Side Frame and 3" Wide Top and Bottom Frame in Satin Nickel. The outer two glass panes are fixed and the inner two panes slide left and right to open.
Option #7: DF1G-99 Cabinet Fireplace Door with 4-Sided Waves Casting Trim in Satin Nickel.
Option #8: DF1G-99 Bifold Fireplace Door with 4-Sided Waves Casting Trim in Satin Nickel Overlapping Wide Wrought Iron Surround Facing in Dark Bronze.
Option #9: DF1G-99 Clearview Cabinet Fireplace Door with 4-Sided Waves Casting Trim in Satin Nickel Overlapping Narrower Surround Facing in Antique Pewter.
Option #10: CD-2 Bifold Channel Door in Brushed Nickel with Brushed Nickel Surround. This is all made from solid brass that is nickel plated.
Option #11: CD-2 Bifold Channel Door with Brushed Nickel Doors and Champagne Surround. This is all made from solid brass that is nickel plated.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
