Custom Fireplace Glass Doors For Arched Stone Fireplace - Project #11033

Customer Comments: Hello, the dimensions of the fireplace are are: Height 29 1/4" x Width 30.0" x 22 1/2" Side Height. I would like the design to cover the entire opening with glass doors following the shape of the opening.

Our Comments: There are 2 ways to treat a stone fireplace like yours. Make a wider frame and overlap the stone. This will leave gaps behind the frame that may be unsightly depending on how irregular the stone is. We can also use a narrower frame and fit the door inside the opening and you can fill the gaps with mortar. If the stone is not too irregular on the surface (say less than 1/2") an overlap fith will look fine and is easier to install. If the stones are more than a 1/2" in irregularity, you may want to consider the inside fit option. Either way, we will need a template made of the fireplace opening and will provide instructions for that during the ordering process.

Almost all of our steel and solid brass doors can be made with an arch top to fit your fireplace. We are starting with a very basic design with no embellishments.

Fireplace Opening: 30" W x 22 1/2" to 29 1/4" H

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
