Custom Fireplace Glass Doors for White Brick Prefab Fireplace - Project #11035

Customer Comments: Hello, I am looking to buy glass doors for my brick fireplace opening. My fireplace opening measurements are 34.5 in wide at the narrowest point and 21.125 in tall at the shortest point. Those are precise measurements, so as I've read, I would probably need to have the insert a tiny bit smaller. I don't mind chipping out little bits with a masonry chisel if I need to though. The perimeter of the opening has a layer of brick that sticks out about 0.75 in. The sides of that brick border are exactly 3 in and the top is 2.625 in. Ideally, the fireplace door insert would cover that brick perimeter, but if it can't completely cover it, that's okay.

I was looking to get the SAVANNAH CUSTOM/STOCK FIREPLACE DOOR with a matte black finish. Is that the vintage iron color or textured black? Is this something that would work? I'm on a relatively limited budget. I'm just interested in the glass doors.

Our Comments: This is a prefabricated fireplace, so the Savannah doors cannot work as they can only fit over the actual black metal of the fireplace, not the brick facing. We have presented several mockups showing doors we recommend for this application.

Fireplace Opening: 34 1/2" W x 21 1/8" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
