Our Comments: We actually have 3 different manufacturers that can be made the same basic doors for an arched fireplace. These doors can be made with or without wire mesh backup screens. There are slight differences in the hinges or handles as well as the latches and quality of the mesh doors.

Option #2D: Flat Steel Arched Glass Door with AirSeal Gasket Doors with Center Bars, Blacksmith Handles and Mesh Backup Doors in Matte Black. (This was the final choice).

Arched Fireplace Doors

Option #1: DF2G ARCH Hand Crafted Steel High End Arched Glass Door with Special Handles and Mesh Backup Doors in Flat Black. This door uses the highest quality hinges and solid brass latches many years of trouble free smooth operation. The doors are precision made with a tolerance of 1/32", so everything seals rather well without the need for gaskets.

Option #2A: Flat Steel Arched Glass Door with AirSeal Gasket Doors and Mesh Backup Doors in Matte Black. If you want the tightest seal, this is the only one that actually uses gaskets. However, over the years gaskets always wear out and will need to be replaced.

Option #2B: Same as Option #2A but with 4" extra wide side panels (each side).

Option #2C: Same as Option #2A but with 8" wide side panels (each side).

Option #3: Legend Arched Glass Door with Tight Fitting Doors and Mesh Backup Doors in Rustic Black. This door does not have gaskets and is made to a 1/8" tolerance.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
