Glass Doors for Wide Brick Fireplace - Project #11051

Customer Comments: Hello, We need new doors for our fireplace so I would like for you guys to provide some designs & quotes. Width is 49in and Height is 28 in. Since the fireplace opening is so big I would like to have fixed end panels on the ends and doors with screen doors or curtains behind the doors that open. I would like black, iron, or old world bronze in color. Aluminum Doors should be sufficient for our needs. Please let me know If you need any more information or pictures of the fireplace.

Our Comments: We can make any of the aluminum doors with fixed end panels in order to make the doors that open smaller. Keep in mind that these doors do not slide in a track like your existing doors. They fold all the way back flat against the fireplace and fixed end panels are a $250 upgrade that we do not find necessary for a door this size. In any case, we will make them like you want and have presented each of the mockups below in that manner.

Fireplace Opening: 49" W x 28" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Aluminum Fireplace Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Bungalow Fireplace Door Option #: Bungalow Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Gray Glass, Fixed End Panels and Gate Mesh Backup Doors. Because the gate mesh doors do not extend behind the fixed end panels, we use gray glass in an attempt to slightly conceal the gate mesh doors.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
