Custom Wrought Iron Screens for Large Fireplace - Project #11069
Customer Comments: Hello, I am interested in purchasing a custom fireplace screen. The opening of my fireplace is 48 inches high and also 48 inches wide. I really like the look of the 3 fold black rock wrought iron screen or similar, ideally in a matte black finish. I have attached photos. I do not know what your turnaround time is, but I'm really hoping to have the screen for Christmas. Additionally, I'm not sure if you also sell fire baskets for the wood inside the fireplace? If so, the depth of our fireplace is 20 inches, and in the very back the width is 40 inches.
Our Comments: We have created several mockups of screens we recommend for fireplaces like yours including the one you liked. Because the opening is so large, you may want to consider an attached screen, or even glass doors. Large wrought iron screens can get heavy and awkward to move around each time you tend the fire. Single panel screens are easier to manipulate doors are the esiest since you just open and close them.
Fireplace Opening: 48" W x 48" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
