Glass Doors for Very Large Fireplace - Project #11082
Customer Comments: This fireplace opening is around 6 feet wide and 3.5 feet tall. There is a column on the right side.
Our Comments: We have many glass doors we can custom make to fit a fireplace as large as yours. If you want to be able to burn a fire with the doors closed, you will need doors that have 6 panes of glass with the two end panes fixed. If you do not want fixed end panels, you must burn the fire with the doors open. We have created examples of both types of doors in various price ranges and materials.
Fireplace Opening: 72" W x 42" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Doors with Fixed End Panels
Adding fixed end panels reduces the overall size of each pane of glass which allows them to handle more heat so they can be burned with the doors open or closed. You can have sliding mesh curtains or gate mesh backup doors in case you want to burn the fire with the doors open.

Doors Without Fixed End Panels
These doors cannot be burned with the doors closed. They can be made with sliding mesh curtains or gate mesh backup doors for spark protection when the fire is burning.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
