Glass Doors for Mable Fireplace Raised In The Wall - Project 11096
Customer Comments: Spoke to Felix yesterday. Fireplace opening is 33 & 3/8" wide by 27 & 1/2" high. Want an inside mount we have a 5" ledge all around. Bronze glass. Is there a color option for hinges or any exposed metal? Thanks
Our Comments: Here are examples of doors we think will look best on your fireplace. Some fit inside, others just overlap the opening. There are many finish options, but since you have brass trim around the fireplace, we have chosen to show doors with brass. Also, you requested bronze glass but we believe gray glass might look better in this application. We have provided some options showing both.

Affordable Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Profile 4 Twin Fireplace Door in Brushed Brass (anodized aluminum). This is not a highly polished brass, but more like a satin brass. It will not perfectly match your current brass trim, but will compliment it.
Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #2: Formed Steel Fireplace Door in Black with Polished Brass Trim and Gray Glass. This door has a 3/4" deep frame that can overlap the opening or fit inside. The brass trim is polished plated brass.
High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.
Option #3A: Minimal-1 Cabinet Glass Door in Solid Polished Brass with Black Inner Trim and 3/8" Thick Bronze Glass. This door has no frame on the sides and is designed to fit completely inside the fireplace.
Option #3B: Minimal-1 Cabinet Glass Door in Solid Polished Brass with Black Inner Trim and 3/8" Thick Clear Glass. This door has no frame on the sides and is designed to fit completely inside the fireplace.
Option #4: HYBRID-2 Bifold Door in Solid Polished Brass with Gray Glass. This door has no frame on the sides and is designed to fit completely inside the fireplace.
Option #5: SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Solid Polished Brass with Bronze Glass. This door has 2 fixed panes of glass on the right and left sides and 2 sliding panes in the center. Made from 3/16" solid brass barstock. Best works overlapping the fireplace but can be made to fit inside.
Option #6: DF1G Bifold Door with Gloss Black Outer Frame and Solid Brass Half Round Door Frames and Gray Glass. This door can be made to fit inside or overlap the opening.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
