Glass Doors for Very Small Fireplace - Project #11138

Customer Comments: Hello, Please find attached 3 photographs of our fireplace and living room. The dimensions are: 27 1/4" High and 29 1/2" Wide. We are looking for cabinet style with minimal frame thickness. Steel. No mesh. Clear glass. We would like to stay in the range of $800. Thanks.

Our Comments: Sorry to report, there are no fireplaced doors that meet your needs in the $800 price range. Your fireplace is too small for any standard size doors and the least expensive flat steel custom door is in the $1400.00 price range. With that said, we have created mockups showing the 3 least expensive custom made doors we have available.

Fireplace Opening: 29 1/2" W x 27 1/4" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Flat Steel

This door is laser cut from 3/16" thick solid steel, which is basically what you are asking for. The frame can be made 1 1/2" or 2" wide.

Formed Steel
Carolina Fireplace Door Option #1: Carolina Twin Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass.

Formed Steel

This door is made from 14 gauge steel that is bent to create the frame. It has a depth of 5/8" and a width of 1 1/4". This is the least expensive custom made steel door we have available. The frame is very narrow so it can only overlap the opening about 1/2", which leaves little room for variation in the size of the opening. You cannot burn a fire with the doors closed on this model, so if you are burning wood, you will need mesh curtains behind the glass.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable when it comes to custom doors.

Brookfield
Brookfield Fireplace Door Option #3: Brookfield Alumninum Twin Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass. This door has a 1/2" thick frame that is 2 1/8" wide.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
