Glass Doors for Mosaic Tile Fireplace - Project #11153

Customer Comments: Hello, I have a 22x34" opening in my fireplace that I’d like a black metal door on. I'm not sure if it's a zero clearance or masonry fireplace. Pics are attached. Can you assist? Thank you.

Our Comments: Your fireplace is certainly a masonry fireplace, so you have many options. Below are options with minimal frames in black that can be custom made to fit your fireplace. These all must be burned with the doors open since you are burning gas. You can add a mesh curtain or gate mesh doors behind the glass if you wish to have a screen in front of the fire when the fire is burning. We have chosen to show all of the mockups without any mesh for the cleanest appearance.

Fireplace Opening: 34" W x 22" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

About Finishes!

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Profile 4
Profile 4 Fireplace Door Option #1: Profile 4 Fireplace Glass Door in Matte Black. This door has a 1 1/8" wide frame.
Brookfield Fireplace Door Option #2: Brookfield Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black. This door has a narrow 1" wide frame.

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

Legend Fireplace Door Option #3: Legend Fireplace Glass Door with Custom 1 1/4" wide frame.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass

These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes.

Minimal-1 Fireplace Door Option #4: Minimal-1 Fireplace Cabinet Glass Door in Flat Black. This door has no frame on the sides, just an angle iron frame on top and bottom with simple hardware. It also has 3/8" thick glass, which looks very classy. All of the other doors use 1/4" glass.
Hybrid 2 Fireplace Door Option #5: HYBRID-2 Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Matte Black. Like the Minimal-1 door, this door has no frame on the sides and gives you the option of a bifold or cabinet door.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
