Custom Fireplace Glass Doors - Project #11170
Customer Comments: Hi Hansen, I would like to remodel my stone fireplace wall. I like the texture of the stone but as is it feels dark and dated. I would like a modern fireplace and feature wall. I am open to any suggestions. My thought was to replace the mantel with an oversized contemporary straight line mantel shelf, possibly light stone/cement look. Also to cover the front of the hearth. And add fireplace doors. Also large art work on top of the mantel to cover more of the stone. Your expertise is appreciated. The fireplace opening is 27.5 x 47 inches. Thank you.
Our Comments: Let's start with these two ideas below. We can venture off from here, but this shows the difference between a mantel that is right above the opening and one that is a little higher along with matching hearth trim and glass doors. We also added a cap to the shelf on the left along with some matching fireplace tools. All of that we can supply. We do not have the artwork or plant.
Fireplace Opening: 47" W x 27 1/2" H

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
