Screen Options for Gothic Arch Fireplace - Project #11185
Customer Comments: Hello, We are hoping to get a fireplace screen with doors for our gas fireplace in our living room. We very much like our fireplace surround/mantle and do not want it covered at all.
Our Comments: Here are some mockups that should help you decide what type of screen you want. We have included screens with doors as well as free standing single panel screens, which are the most popular choice for a fireplace like yours.

Screens with Doors
Here are 4 different types of screens with doors. Andirons are often used with larger fireplaces like this, so we have included them where they are appropriate.
Option #1: DF3M Gothic Arch Attached Screen Door with Wrought Iron Handles in Matte Black. Features "Psuedo Clearview" cabinet doors with narrow center divider for less fire viewing obstruction. Shown with matching WI-AN9 Liege Andirons.
Option #2: DF1M-FSD Plain Black Iron Free Standing Fireplace Screen with Doors. Shown with Scroll Feet. Includes mounting hardware to bolt it to the hearth inside for added stability.
Option #3: TFD33. Solid Brass and Steel 3 Fold Screen with Rope Casting Trim and Operable Screen Doors. Includes mounting hardware to bolt it to the hearth inside for added stability.
Option #4: TFD33. Solid Brass 3 Fold Screen with Rope Casting Trim, Fleur De Lis Ornaments and Operable Screen Doors in Weathered Brass. This screen would include mounting hardware to bolt it to the hearth inside for stability.
Single Panel Screens Without Doors
A free standing screen with a gothic arch is the most popular treatment for this type of fireplace. These screens are almost always accompanied with andirons to complete the look.

Option #7: EDGE-HH Solid Brass Screen Door with #22 Laurel Leaf Casting Doors, #66 Bellini Casting Inner Trim and AR-VG1 Feet in Hand Polished Brass. Includes mounting hardware to bolt it to the hearth inside for added stability.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
