Glass Doors for Marco Prefab Fireplace - Project #11189

Custom Fireplace Glass Doors - Project #11189

Customer Comments: Our home is currently undergoing a remodel. We're looking for a budget friendly simple twin or single glass fireplace door with a black, dark brown or brushed nickel frame. We like the look of the Hearth Craft Reflective & Hearth Craft. Inside we we will use a 21” glass pan system burner with 1/2" fire glass (color TBD but considering clear, reflective cooper or reflective blue lagoon). We're looking forward to your mockup.

Our Comments: The Hearthcraft doors you mentioned are not available for prefab fireplaces. Also, when burning gas in a fireplace, you cannot burn the fire with the doors closed, so although a single pane of glass does have a very distinctive look, it is not practical to be open. Twin doors will open rather wide as well, so we recommend you consider either bifolding or sliding doors. Below are examples of twin, bifold and sliding doors.

Fireplace Opening: 41 5/16" W x 22 5/16" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Stiletto
Stiletto Fireplace Door Option #1: Stiletto Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black. This door must fit entirely inside the black metal portion of the fireplace opening, which will leave a gap between the tile and the frame on the top and sides. This is the least expensive door we can have made for your fireplace
Profile 2
Profile 2 Fireplace Door Option #2: Profile 2 Fireplace Glass Door in Satin Nickel (brushed aluminum). This door overlaps the tile opening with a subframe that recesses 3/4" into the opening.
Profile 3
Profile 3 Fireplace Door Option #3: Profile 3 Fireplace Glass Door in Black with Satin Nickel Door Frames and Handles. This door overlaps the tile opening with a subframe that recesses 1 1/4" into the opening, so you must check how far back the damper lever is to make sure it will not be in the way.

High End Hand Crafted Sliding Door

The Sliding Door from Stone Manufacturing is our most recommended option for fireplaces like this when burning glass crystals. The left and right outermost glass panes are fixed and the two inner panes slide to the left and right to open and close.

Sliding Door
Sliding Fireplace Door Option #4A: SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Gloss Black. Shown with the doors open Reflective Copper glass burning.
Sliding Door
Sliding Fireplace Door Option #4B: SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Gloss Black. Shown with the doors closed Reflective Emerald glass turned off.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
