Glass Doors for Black Granite Fireplace - Project #11200
Customer Comments: Hi, I'm looking for a few options for black doors. Not looking for too traditional. The opening is approximately 43.5" wide x 32" high. I included 3 photos of the opening and 1 photo of the old doors which seemed to fit well. The box of those old doors is about 42 3/8" wide x 31.5" high. Beyond the top of the box of the old doors there's about another 8.5" to the top of the arch.
Our Comments: Here are a few choices of black doors that can be made to fit your fireplace. We also included an option shown in white just for kicks, since most people are not aware it is available for fireplace doors.

Affordable Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Hearth Creations Profile 6 Fireplace Glass Door in Matte Black. This door has a simple bull-noze frame that fits flush to the opening.
Option #2: Design Specialties Stiletto Fireplace Glass Door in Gloss Black. This door projects out 1 5/8", but does have a "Cutback" option that is more flush if the opening is perfectly square.
Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #4: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Door with 1 1/2" Wide Frame in White (Available in Matte Black).
High End Hand Crafted Steel Doors
These doors are uniquely designed and hand crafted by Stone Manufacturing for the ultimate elegance.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
