Custom Solid Brass Folding Screen with Doors for Large Fireplace - Project #11285
Customer Comments: Greg last year you designed an excellent glass door fireplace screen (Project #10781) with which we are very pleased. In another room in the house, I would like to get a custom freestanding 3 panel fireplace screen with 2 doors in the center. I did not see this style on your web site but hope you can do that. Attached please find 3 photos. The fireplace opening is 37 inches High, 47 inches wide and the depth of the hearth is 20 3/4 inches. A finish sample Stone Manufacturing sent last year would work that being Weathered Brass. If you need additional information let me know. Thanks.
Our Comments: Stone Manufacturing does make 3 fold screens with operable doors. With a fireplace as large as yours, the screen would need to be attached at the base, otherwise it will be unstable when you open the doors. We can provide mounting hardware for that application. Otherwise, it might be best to have a screen door attached as we did with your other fireplace. We have provided a mockup of that option as well.
Fireplace Opening:
47" W x 37" H
Recommended Screen Size: 12" W (Side Panels) x 36" W (Center Panel) x 31" to 38" Tall
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Folding Screens with Doors
These screens are custom made from solid brass by Stone Manufacturing. Free standing screens are traditionally accompanied with andirons, which we have shown in some of the examples. We also added some matching fireplace tools, which are usually necessary for tending a fire.

Attached Mesh Doors
These solid brass doors are attached to the fireplace just like the glass doors you installed in your other room, but with wire mesh instead of glass.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
