Glass Doors for Outdoor Fireplace in Stucco Wall - Project #11311
Customer Comments: We are interested in getting glass doors for our outdoor fireplace (see attached pictures). To give you a sense of the dimensions the stucco opening is 42 3/4 inches by 24 3/4 inches. Given that we are new to this, we would like to talk to you about options. Best availability for us is afternoons on Tuesday or Friday, or anytime on the weekend. We look forward to hearing from you.
Our Comments: Because this is a prefabricated outdoor fireplace, your options are very limited. You can use an aluminum cabinet door or a stainless steel bifold door, both painted black. Some other finishes are available, but black is the most durable. We will discuss your options further over the phone. These two mockups show the difference between the two doors.
Fireplace Opening: 42 3/4" W x 24 3/4" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Affordable Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for outdoor fireplaces because it does not rust like steel. An outdoor package is available where they make the hinges and some other hardware in stainless steel along with stainless steel mesh, all painted black. They do not make the bifold hinges in stainless steel, so we recommend cabinet doors for this model.

High End Stainless Steel Doors
This door frame is made entire from 3/16" thick stainless steel. The hinges and other hardware are also stainless steel including the mesh backup doors. It is also available in a brushed stainless finish.

Measuring Instructions
Please follow these instructions for measuring your fireplace:
Outside Opening: Remeasure the width and height of the stucco opening. We need the smallest width and height so the door will fit inside of it, so you need to measure all around to find the smallest size. We will deduct 1/8” on all 4 sides from those measurements so the door frame fits comfortably.
W1: Smallest stucco opening width:
H1: Smallest stucco opening height:
Inside Opening: The Legend door has a 1” deep subframe that projects into the fireplace. The diagram indicates where to measure inside so we can make the subframe clear any obstructions.
W2: Actual width of metal fireplace opening:
H2: Height of metal fireplace opening from the back side of the top track down to the raised metal lip at the bottom:
The door will be made with pressure screws for installation, so no tools will be necessary and it will only take a few minutes to install.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
