Custom Screen for Layered Arch Fireplace - Project #11319

Customer Comments: Hello! Looking at your custom fireplace screens! I am attaching a photo of what we have – and we want nothing like it! LOL. Looking for a simple flat screen with two doors. The middle section of ours now is 44"w and roughly 35" tall. The sides are each 8" by about 29". Ideally it would be a freestanding door that fits nicely in the fireplace opening. Look forward to hearing from you!

Our Comments: Here are some beautiful fireplace screens with doors that can either be attached to the opening or free standing. Hope this helps.

Fireplace Opening: 48" W x 36" H (see below)

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Feet & Brackets

Below are the feet and brackets that are used for a free standing screen this large.

Wrought Iron
Wrought Iron Fireplace Door Front Feet: This shows the type of foot used with our wrought iron screens. The length of the foot may be longer than shown for added stability if the rear feet are not mounted.
Wrought Iron
Wrought Iron Fireplace Door Back Feet: This shows an optional mounting system for great stability with a free standing screen door. The bracket is bolted to the hearth inside the fireplace and the wing-nut is easily loosened when you need to move the screen out of the way.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
