Customer Comments: Looking for single panel glass screen.
Our Comments: We are showing several free standing glass screens below. However, we do not recommend free standing glass screens when there are small children in the home as they are easy to knock over and can potentially cause harm. For this reason, we are presenting other options for your consideration that are much safer around kids. All of the options are very high end solid brass products hand crafted by skilled artisans at Stone Manufacturing and finished to perfection.
Special Note: We recommend cutting the rear shanks off the andirons with a hack saw so they can be positioned properly in the fireplace. This will be necessary if you choose any of the glass door options.

After receiving the dimensions, the size of the fireplace is quite larger than anticipated and will change the way most of the mockups on this page are shown. Openings over 48" W and 48" tall require additional cross members for the mesh. They also require 6" long feet instead of the standard 3" feet. Below are revisions for the screen you preferred showing how it must be made to accommodate the larger size showing ways of providing the support.

Free Standing Glass Screens with Solid Brass Hardware
The 3 options below have much heavier feet and thicker glass than normal so they are more difficult to knock over. However, we still do not feel they are safe around toddlers. Also, keep in mind that free standing glass screens must stand at least 8" away from the fireplace when the gas us burning, otherwise they can shatter from heat.

Solid Brass Glass Doors
Option #11: Stone Manufacturing SD Sliding Fireplace Door with 2" Split Tube Surround in Polished Brass with Mesh Curtains. Shown with doors open. This door has 2 fixed panes of glass on the right and left sides and 2 sliding panes in the center.
Option #12: Stone Manufacturing HYBRID-2 Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Hand Polished Brass. This door has no frame on the sides, just two solid brass angle irons on the top and bottom to hold the glass hardware.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
