Glass Doors for Prefab Fireplace with Stone Facing - Project #11372
Customer Comments: Hello, The height and width are vary a bit depending on where you measure. Approximate width 41.5 and height 29.5. We are looking for doors that match our decor for safety and efficiency.
Our Comments: The way your fireplace has been installed and covered with stone requires doors that overlap the opening and have 1/4" spacers on the back of the frame to allow airflow into the fireplace and prevent overheating. This does reduce the efficiency, but still provides a major improvement. These doors must be burned with the doors open and can be closed as the fire dies to help block the majority of the cold air from coming into the home.
Fireplace Opening: 41 1/2" W x 29 1/2" H

High End Sliding Doors
Sliding doors have fixed glass on the left and right sides where the center panes slide left and right to open and close. These are great for fireplaces raised in the wall where you do not want doors sticking out. They are most appropriate for gas fires.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
