Glass Doors for Granite Wall Fireplace - Project #11377

Customer Comments: Interested in Project #11154. I too am thinking either black silver or brushed nickel. The last being my preference I'm thinking about only 2 doors. Don't want to draw away anymore from the granite wall. The edges are. All square. The bottom of fire box is about 3/16 lower than tile floor. With a steel member along the bottom I plan on filling gap with grout to finish it off. Hope this makes sense.

Our Comments: Here are some examples shown in two views of your room similar to those found in Project #11154. Cabinet doors that fold back 180 degrees are best for this application since there is no hearth. Some of the cabinet doors do not open that far as indicated. We highly recommned sliding doors for this application since they do not open outward at all. You will see several examples of these.

Fireplace Opening: 40" W x 30" H

These doors are hand crafted by Stone Manufacturing from Solid Brass. Because these doors fit inside the opening, the do not open a full 180 degrees.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
