Glass Doors for Granite Wall Fireplace - Project #11377
Customer Comments: Interested in Project #11154. I too am thinking either black silver or brushed nickel. The last being my preference I'm thinking about only 2 doors. Don't want to draw away anymore from the granite wall. The edges are. All square. The bottom of fire box is about 3/16 lower than tile floor. With a steel member along the bottom I plan on filling gap with grout to finish it off. Hope this makes sense.
Our Comments: Here are some examples shown in two views of your room similar to those found in Project #11154. Cabinet doors that fold back 180 degrees are best for this application since there is no hearth. Some of the cabinet doors do not open that far as indicated. We highly recommned sliding doors for this application since they do not open outward at all. You will see several examples of these.
Fireplace Opening: 40" W x 30" H

DF1G Solid Brass Sliding Doors
Made from Solid Brass by Stone Manufacturing, the Sliding Door has two fixed panes of glass on the outer sides while the inner two panes slide left and right to open. This is an ideal setup for fireplaces where there is a walkway directly in front with no hearth. The mockups are shown with the doors open and Waterfall handles.

Minimal and Hybrid Doors
These doors are hand crafted by Stone Manufacturing from Solid Brass. There is no frame on the sides of these doors, just an angle iron that mounts to the top and bottom of the opening creating the most minimal look possible. Because these doors fit inside the opening, the do not open a full 180 degrees.

DF1G Solid Brass Doors
Made from Solid Brass by Stone Manufacturing, the DF1G is the highest quality basic full frame fireplace door on the market. This door features all solid brass components including hinges and latches. Available in Polished or Satin Chrome or Nickel, or flat black or gloss black enamel. The doors fold back 180 degrees flat to the fireplace in either cabinet or bifold versions.

Affordable Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
