Glass Doors with Blower for Large Brick Fireplace - Project #11389
Customer Comments: Good morning, I am interested in purchasing fireplace doors and would like to see some ideas you can design. I would like to have a blower to get more heat into the room, glass and steel doors with a traditional black iron look with the grate curtain. I am also looking to have the doors seal for when the fireplace is not in use. The actual opening dims inside edge of angle are 47" wide x 34-1/2" tall with 3" angle iron on 3 sides bringing outside dims to 53" wide x 37-1/2" tall with outside leg of angle pointing into fireplace. Top angle sits on the outside of upright angles. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
Our Comments: Looks like the Airculator HE15101 heat circulating system will work great with your fireplace, although it does not extend further than the 3" angle trim, so about 1" of that trim will show around the door frame. Here are examples of how it might look with glass doors in 3 different quality ranges that can be burned with the doors closed. The Tight Fitting doors in Option #3 will provide the best seal when the doors are closed.
Fireplace Opening: 47" W x 34 1/2" H

Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Affordable Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

High End Hand Crafted Wrought Iron/Steel Doors
Hand crafted doors take on a more rugged natural look for those who appreciate craftsmanship tasteful details.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
