Glass Doors for Traditional Tiled Fireplace - Project #11403

Customer Comments: Good morning. I would like to see mock-ups of my fireplace with glass doors that can be closed with a fire burning. I like the Savannah model, and would like to see it in textured black and cast bronze, if it fits my fireplace. If there's 1 more you can suggest, please send that over too. The fireplace is 35 1/4" wide and 30" tall, but I'd want further instructions on measuring before placing an order. I also want something that has a mesh screen.

Our Comments: The Savannah and Bungalow doors both fit your fireplace in a standard size and can be burned with the doors closed. We also included the Brookfield, which is a custom made door with a little narrower frame that people tend to like better. Narrower frame doors are tyically custom made since there is a lot less room for play in the amount of overlap and they would require too many standard sizes to fit a variety of fireplace openings. We also included two very high end solid brass doors just for others to see who view these projects for ideas on traditional fireplace doors.

Regarding measuring, as long as you are within 1/8" on the width and height measurements, you will be perfectly fine with the Savannah and Bungalow standard size doors.

Fireplace Opening: 35 1/4" W x 30" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
