Glass Doors for Large Red Brick Fireplace - Project #11468
Customer Comments: Looking for a glass fireplace door for our fireplace. Preferably steel. Not bi-fold.
Our Comments: If you wish to burn a fire with the doors closed, you will need bifold doors or ceramic glass. Bifold doors are a lot less expensive and worth your consideration, so we have included a couple options.
Fireplace Opening: 48 1/4" W x 32 3/4" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.
Finish Samples: Design Specialties Finishes | Stone Manufacturing Finishes | Hearth Creations Finishes
Design Specialties
Design Specialties makes bifold doors that can be burned with the doors closed. These are very heavy duty and made from laser cut steel
Hearth Creations
Hearth Creations doors cannot be burned with the doors closed unless they are made with ceramic glass, which comes as a high premium upgrade. If using normal tempered glass you must burn a fire with the doors open except when initially starting the fire or when it is dying out.

Stone Manufacturing - Solid Brass
These are ultra-high-end doors made from solid brass. We have chosen these doors to compliment your black with brass pilgrim fireplace tools. These can be made with a wide variety of decorative trim patterns and finishes shown at the bottom of this page. This is the only fireplace door manufacturer that uses solid brass components. Ceramic glass is not an option and these doors must be burned open except when starting a fire or when the fire is dying out.

Stone Manufacturing Wrought Iron
These doors are hand forged by a Blacksmith with characteristics you cannot get from flat steel and has a distinct texture to it that is a result of the forging process. The scrollwork comes in a wide variety of patterns and can be customized to your taste. These examples also show an exclusive "Mesh in Front of Glass" feature only offered by Stone Manufacturing. Adding a wire mesh in front of the glass takes away the reflection giving it a softer less modern look that is more in line with their style. You still get the functionality of the glass doors blocking cold air from coming into your home, but it does not look like a glass door. These are very expensive. Ceramic glass is not an option, so you must burn them with the doors open.

Solid Brass Castings
Use your imagination to create the perfect fireplace screen with these solid brass castings from Stone Manufacturing. Compliment architectural details in the mantel or other furnishings in our home, or simply create your own unique look. Available in a wide variety of finishes.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
