Glass Doors for Fireplace with Angled Opening - Project #11473
Customer Comments:
I have TWO fireplaces that need glass doors, they are both identical, I built a set of forms for the masons to build to so they would match. Attached are pictures of one of them but as I mentioned they are both the same. The house is Contemporary/Transitional. I would like flat black frames with Brushed Nickel trim, the fireplaces were built for inset frames. I would also like to purchase a propane gas log set for the living room fireplace and a log lighter unit for the family room unit
Our Comments: Here are some examples of what we recommend. Some of the doors can be burned with the glass closed while others must be open, so please read the notes carefully. Gas logs require doors to be open regardless.
Fireplace Opening:
Approximately 47 1/2" W x 32" H

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass

Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.

Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
