Custom Free Standing Glass Fireplace Screens

Important Notice: Free standing glass fireplace screens CANNOT be placed in front of a wood burning fire or ventless gas log and must remain at least 8” in front of a vented gas fire. They are for decorative use only and can shatter from heat if used improperly as shown in this Video from the Kelly and Ryan Show. Most websites selling glass screens do not post this warning or hide it in their fine print, yet it applies to ALL free standing glass screens regardless where they are sold.

Stone Manufacturing Glass Fireplace Screens

Glass screens made by Stone Manufacturing are custom made to fit your fireplace and have a wide variety of options. Be sure to check out the Glass and Feet Options Below to design your own screen. Starting prices shown are for sizes up to 36" W x 30" Tall in Flat Black or Polished Brass. Final Price will vary widely based on the size, hardware finish and design. The glass is fully tempered safety glass and in many cases the thickness of the glass can be 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2". Thicker glass provides more elegance. They can also make your screen with ultra clear low iron glass or with beveled edges or decorative etchings for a very elegant look.

Size Limitations: Maximum size is 60" Wide x 46" Tall. Screens over 48" Wide or 36" Tall require 6x6x3 channel feet or 6" block feet. For clear or low iron glass the overall size cannot exceed 20 SQ FT for 1/4" or 30 SQ FT for 3/8" or 1/2" glass. Graylite-14, Gray or Bronze Glass cannot exceed 25 SQ FT for 1/4" glass or 37.5 SQ FT for 3/8" or 1/2" glass.

Glass Colors

Ultra Clear (Low Iron) glass, often referred to as "Starphire" glass, does not have the typical green hue as normal clear glass. It is nearly double the price of clear glass but has a very upscale crystal clear look to it. For the ultimate appearance of luxury, order your glass screen with 1/2" thick Starphire glass if you can afford it! Graylite-14 is an upgraded glass that is about 50% darker than normal gray or bronze, which is great if you need to obscure what's inside the fireplace. Clear, Graylite-14, Gray and Bronze glass are available in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" thickness. Ultra-Clear Low Iron glass is available in 3/8" or 1/2" thickness only.

Feet Options

The feet below are made from solid brass by Stone Manufacturing and are available in a Wide Variety of Finishes including polished brass, nickel, chrome (as shown), bronze, gold etc. They are designed to accommodate 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" thick tempered safety glass which is held in place by rubber pressure screws tightened with allen wrench. Channel Feet are available in 4"x4"x2" and 6"x6"x3" sizes and Block Feet in 4", 5" and 6" blocks. Block feet are made from heavy chunks of solid brass (they are not hollow), so they are more stable and costly than channel feet. All feet are available with optional felt pads. Block feet are available with optional roller bearings for easy movement on smooth flat surfaces.

Hearth Creations Glass Fireplace Screens

Hearth Creations has a few unique glass fireplace screen designs shown below, but they actually make most of their single panel fireplace screens with glass instead of mesh, so the variety of options is actually quite vast. Feet and Base Sold Separately

If you wish to provide your own glass, you can purchase the Modern Feet or Modern Base separately. These are designed to hold 3/8" glass up to 70" W x 44" H and are made from stainless steel in brushed stainless, powder coat or premium powder coat finishes. The Modern Base has a minimum price up to 40" Wide with an additional price per inch over 40". The Modern Base can also be made as two separate feet.
