Project 10042 - Fireplace Door Mock-Ups

Brick Fireplace

Request: Customer is requesting to see how each of the 3 stock doors will look in Textured Black and also how each will fit.

Fireplace Opening: 36 1/2” Wide x 24” Tall.

How Stock Doors Fit: To use a stock door we first see if there is a model where your opening falls within the "Fits Openings" size range. If there is a model that fits, we look at the The "Door Size" column to see how big the outside dimension of the fame is. To determine how much overlap there will be (how well the door will fit), we subtract your opening size from the overall frame size. The overlap on each side is half that difference. The overlap on the top is the same as that difference.

Here is how each door will fit:

1 - Bedford Model BD40255: Door Size = 40" W x 25 1/2" H : Top Overlap: 1 1/2" : Overlap Each Side: 1 3/4"
2 - Bungalow Model BG41265: Door Size = 41" W x 26 1/2" H : Top Overlap: 2 1/2" : Overlap Each Side: 2 1/4"
3 - Savannah Model SA40255: Door Size = 40" W x 25 1/2" H : Top Overlap: 1 1/2" : Overlap Each Side: 1 3/4"

Based on the above calculations, each of the three stock doors will fit your fireplace quite well with ample overlap.

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
