Project 10102 - Fireplace Door for Brick Fireplace
Customer Comments: My opening is 42 inches wide by 31 inches high. It might be 31 1/4 inches. The doors set into the fireplace about 4 1/4 inches. I have metal curtains. I know nothing about fireplace doors. Do they have mesh screens instead of curtains now? I am just curious as to what works and no I wouldn't go to Lowes of me Home Depot. Who installs them?
Opening Size: 42" W x 31 1/4" H
Prefabricated fireplaces like this can be treated several ways. You can completely cover the entire black metal fireplace with a door that has a more decorative frame with built-in louvers. You can have a door that is made to just overlap the actual opening, or you can have a door that fits inside the opening. Each of these door models can have a sliding mesh curtain or flat wire gate mesh doors behind the glass. We prefer the flat wire mesh as it is easier to manage and offers the best spark protection. The doors are very easy to install and most of our customers to it themselves. We have several videos available that show how to install them. The Brookfield ZC Deluxe doors actually have heavy duty magnets that simply stick to your existing fireplace, so there really is no installation required for that particular door.
I have supplied links to each door below their corresponding picture so you can get an idea of the prices and options.
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
