Project 10142 - Glass Doors for Outdoor Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hi, I'm interested in fireplace doors. I recently bought an Angel Oak logset and burner from you and love it. I've completed a tile project for over the fireplace. The salesperson for the logset said if we sent pictures of the install for the website you could issue a credit so one is included with our cat Pharaoh pictured. I'll send more after the doors are completed.

I have a Superior RD 4300 just converted to liquid propane but we do not like the black metal around the zero clearance frame and would like to cover it with new doors if possible. We are looking for a satin nickel or similar finish.

Our width of the desired covered opening is 45 -1/8" both top and bottom edges. Height unfortunately varies because of the brick not being level but ranges between 23-3/4" and 24". I have included detailed pictures of the measurements.

I'm curious what you recommend regarding the 1/4" difference along the floor of the doors. I'm comfortable filling with grout if that's the best option.

We are probably interested in an arch incorporated into the design, similar to the Madrid design. We'd also consider the banded scroll and Oak Tree or blacksmith. My fiance prefers door handles on middle instead of top of the doors she thinks. We would like bifold doors. Satin or brushed nickel tone preferable. Clear glass. No screen.

Fireplace Opening: 45 1/8" W x 23 3/4" H

Our Comments: We tried mocking up the Madrid door on your fireplace (see last example) and it is just too busy for the short height of your fireplace. So we have created other samples that incorporate the arch that you requested as well as the Banded Scroll, Oak Tree and Blacksmith doors.

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
