Project #10327 - Glass Door for Large Arched Fireplace
Customer Comments: The dimensions of our fireplace opening are 39" H x 52 1/2" W. The sweep of the arch – lower 26" upper 36". This is a wood burning masonry fireplace. We are interested in models #39 & #30.
Our Comments: We do not typically create mockups for arched fireplace doors, but in order to illustrate how we would make a door for this type of arch, we have taken the time to create this project so others can see how it might work. Due to limitations on the size of individual glass panels (to prevent breakage), large fireplaces like this require fixed end panels on the sides of the door (panels that do not open). This door would be made 1/4" less than the actual opening and the gap would need to be filled with grout or mortar. An exact template would be required and we will tell you how to make that template should you decide to go forward with this project. The door would be in the $4800 to $6000 price range depending on the finish. For consistency and durability on a door this large, we recommend any of the powder coat finishes, which are on the lower price range.
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
