Project 10341 - Glass Doors for Majestic Fireplace

Customer Comments: To Whom It May Concern, I am looking into getting a new fireplace glass door and need help to ensure that I purchase the correct size. Currently my #1 choice is the Stiletto but I am also toying with the idea of the Brookfield ZC deluxe. Attached are the 7 pictures requested to help with the sizing and design. The opening is 41" 7/8 w by 27" h. I can be reached at 510-323-5049. We are planning to have a granite facing installed that goes right up to the opening of the fireplace, a small raised box in front level with the fireplace opening as well. I look forward to talking about the project soon. Thank you, Sincerely.

Our Comments: We have taken the liberty of adding some granite around your fireplace just to show a more finished look. The Stiletto would be made to fit inside the black metal opening and underneath the top edge of the metal strip that covers the mesh curtain rod. The Brookfield ZC Deluxe is not really appropriate for your fireplace if you plan to put the granite right up to the opening since it is designed to cover louvers on heat circulating fireplaces. So I have chosen 2 other doors, The Brookfield and the Slim Moderne. Both of these doors would overlap the black metal opening by about 1/2" on the bottom and sides and 1/2" over the metal strip at the top. For overlap fitting doors, it is best to the doors before you installed the granite so that you can butt the granite right up to the door. We can replace the mesh curtain with new mesh and you can use the existing curtain rod mechanism. We can also add a mesh curtain rod to the door or you can choose to have mesh panel doors behind the glass. It is easier and less expensive to simply replace the existing mesh curtain. If you remove the mesh, then you would also remove the metal strip that covers the curtain rod, which would change the dimensions we would make the door to.

Fireplace Opening: 41 7/8" W x 27" H

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
