Customer Comments: Hello Greg, yes i am looking to fill that space with fireplace doors. Something a bit more decorative, maybe some bars. I wast to be able to see through it, but not easily.
Our Comments: We have provided several examples of doors in different price ranges that we think would be appropriate for this application.

Before:
Aluminum Doors
These doors are pieced together from anodized aluminum extrusions. This material is less expensive than steel or sold brass, yet the finish holds up well to heat. These are the most affordable good quality custom doors.
Solid Steel Doors
These doors are made from a 3/16" thick solid steel plate laser cut to perfect precision. Heavy duty and durable to last many years. The satin nickel is a steel plated finish, which is quite durable, but not as rich and life lasting as plated solid brass.
Option #2: Carolina Fireplace Door with Mission Window Pane. Rustic Black outer frame with Satin Nickel Doors and Gray Glass.
Option #3: Odyssey Twin Fireplace Door in Rustic Black. This door has almost no frame showing. The glass is non reflective black glass, so you cannot see through it and it reflects very little. There are no handles, it opens like a kitchen cabinet that has no handles.
Heirloom Quality Solid Brass Doors
These doors are hand crafted from 100% virgin solid brass, which is the highest quality brass that can be used in manufacturing. They are meticulously polished and then nickel plated. This process creates the richest most luxurious nickel finish you can buy and will last for years to come. These are the most opulent fireplace doors.
Option #4: Hidden Hinge Bifolding Fireplace Door in Satin Nickel. This door is hand crafted from solid brass by an artisan and it is then nickel plated. Nickel plated solid brass provides luxurious finish that is richer and more durable than any other plating method.
Option #5: Frameless Door in Satin Nickel with Square Hinges. This door features twin all glass doors without frames for an excellent contemporary minimalist style.
Option #6: Twin Door with 4 Sided Half Oval Casting and Diamond Window Pane Doors in Antique Pewter. This is an ultra high end luxurious work of craftsmanship that is affordable to few, but we just have to show it off 'cause it looks so gorgeous.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
