Project #10393 - Glass Doors for Brick Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hello, I am requesting a design for doors for our fireplace. I'm not sure if it matters, but, even though there are gas logs in the pictures, we will be removing those logs and using the fireplace for wood burning. Dimensions of the opening: 48 3/4" X 30". Finish wise, we are thinking powder coat, the colors we like are dark pewter, rustic black and vintage iron. We like the Brookfield door, DF1G Extra Wide Fireplace door, and Stiletto. We would like to have twin gate mesh. Please let me know if you need anything else from us, Thanks!

Our Comments: We have provided mock-ups for the doors you requested. The DF1G Extra Wide door is not really appropriate since your fireplace is within a normal size range that does not require fixed side panels and those would restrict access to the inside of the fireplace, so we have used a similar door made by the same manufacturer. The Stiletto frame is likely too narrow to provide enough overlap at the top of the fireplace, so we do not recommend it for your application. We also added the Legend door as a less expensive alternative to the DF1G. Each door is shown with mesh panel backup doors.

Fireplace Opening: 48 3/4" W x 30" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
