Project #10714 - Glass Doors for Fireplace
Customer Comments: We are looking for fireplace doors for an existing fireplace. The size of the opening is approximately 36"x 22". We are looking for a slim frame in brushed brass or antique brass finish. Find attached the picture of the existing fireplace.
Our Comments: There are several types of doors you can use on a prefabricated fireplace like yours. If you want a brass finish, we have doors that are made from solid brass that come in many different brass finishes. The aluminum doors do not come in brass or antique brass, so we included one in black since they are the least expensive doors. The Steel doors come in a brassy finish that is in between satin and antique, they call it vintage brass.

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
