Project #10905 - Screens for Trapezoid Fireplace
Customer Comments: Good Morning! I came across your website while looking for fireplace screens. I am particularly interested in these 2 models. Can both designs be built for these dimensions? (50x 30)
Our Comments: Below are some ideas for how you can treat your unique trapezoid shaped fireplace. It is our opinion that a glass door attached to the fireplace is ultimately the best choice because it adds the benefit of blocking air from coming in and out of the chimney. These mockups should help you decide which way to go.
Fireplace Opening: 50" W (bottom) x 33" W (top) x 29" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Glass Doors for Trapezoidal Fireplace
Glass doors can improve the efficiency of your fireplace dramatically by allowing you to close the doors as the fire is dying out when you retire for the evening. Most people end up leaving the damper open all night as the fire dies out, which is worse than leaving a window wide open in the middle of winter. Closing the doors prevents the cold air from coming into your home and helps protect from any sparks or smoke.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
