Custom Glass Doors for Small Black Brick Fireplace - Project #11015

Customer Comments: Hello. I'm looking to have a custom fireplace doors made. The fireplace's opening dimensions are 30" tall by 29" wide. I'm looking for a very standard, unembellished, basic, matte black design. Clean and simple is better. Thank you

Our Comments: Here are various different fireplace doors that have minimal designs in black. We did include one door in a more natural wrought iron finish that seems appropriate for the decor in the room.

Fireplace Opening: 30" W x 29" H

About Finishes!

Low End Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Brookfield Fireplace Door Option #1: Brookfield Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Mesh Curtains.
Stiletto Fireplace Door Option #2: Stiletto Twin Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Mesh Curtains. This door has a very narrow frame but the frame projects out from the fireplace 1 5/8".

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

MET Slim
Met Fireplace Door Option #3: MET Slim Single Fireplace Door in Rustic Black with Single Gate Mesh Backup Door. This is about as simple as it gets.

High End Hand Crafted Doors

These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans and are unique in the industry.

Minimal-1 Fireplace Door Option #4: Minimal-1 Fireplace Glass Door in Flat Black with Mesh Curtains. Shown with WI-AN3 Hand Forges Spearhead Andirons. This door has no frames on the sides. There is an angle iron at the top and bottom that holds the hinges in place. Unlike all the other doors that have 1/4" glass, this door uses 3/8" thick glass which gives it a very distinct modern minimalist look.
Wrought Iron
Wrought Iron Fireplace Door Option #5: WI-DF1G Contemporary Wrought Iron Twin Fireplace Door in Oil Rubbed Steel with Mesh Curtains. Shown with WI-AN3 Hand Forges Spearhead Andirons. This is a very artsy looking hand crafted ensemble designed to go with the motif of the room. It is also available in flat black, but loses a lot of it's character when made in black.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
