Contemporary Chrome and Stainless Steel Fireplace Doors - Project #11063
Customer Comments: Dear Design Team, While surfing the web, I ran across your site. I am looking to install Fireplace Doors so we can use our fireplace for the first time since 1990. The house is very modern and would like set of Chrome or Stainless Steel Doors, with a very modern design. I have attached a photo of the Fireplace opening for your review. Please note the side of the opening is rough stone; however the top and bottom have finished stone surfaces.
Our Comments: Here are several options of doors made in a satin nickel, polished chrome or stainless steel finishes made from various materials in a broad range of prices.
Fireplace Opening: 47 1/2" W x 35 5/8" H (roughly)
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Affordable Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass or Steel
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Polished Chrome finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and have a very deep luxurious shine that lasts many years longer than plated steel finishes.
Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
