Spark Guards for Arched Fireplace - Project #11212
Customer Comments: Hi team, Looking to get a new screen / spark guard for our fireplace as occasionally the spark flies over the top of the existing structure bc it doesn't take the shape of the curve at the top of the fireplace (pics below). We like the shape of the existing (don't want a flat screen) because not too hot to remove. Was hoping you could provide us a mock up and estimate of a custom screen that we could order. Height is 36 inches. Width of current screen is 39 inches but width of fireplace would need something that is 44 inches. Thank you in advance!
Our Comments: Below are a couple examples of Boston spark guards that can be made to fit your arched opening. When it comes to single panel screens, we make them wider than the opening with the handles on the sides so they are not too hot to move when you build a fire. The handles on the Boston spark guards are on the front of the screen and will likely be hotter to the touch than on a flat screen. For this reason, we included a single panel arched screen made from solid brass with ball and claw feet to match your beautiful Virginia Crafters andirons.
Fireplace Opening: 42" W x 31" to 36" H (approx)
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
